8 Mustangs Receive All-Region Honors

Postseason accolades for Walker Valley football were announced recently, with eight Mustangs named to the All-Region team for Region 4-5A.

The superlatives list was led by Mustangs field general Tucker Pope, who was chosen as Quarterback of the Year. Griffin Broome received the Iron Man Award. Walker Valley place kicker and punter Charlie Swafford was named Kicker of the Year. Jack Anderson received the award for academics.

Kole Hall, Kellar Carson, Skyler Mullins and Shimier Davis all had their names added to the All-Region team.

"I am so proud of our guys recognized by our region coaches," said Mustangs head coach Drew Akins. "To have eight guys recognized shows you we have guys in our program that are special, talented players. These guys all made a huge impact on our 2019 season, and for the future."
